Apple's $100 Million iPhone Test Chambers
At today's event, Steve Jobs gave the audience a glimpse of the the space-age chambers that Apple uses to test its prototype iPhones. Apple published the pictures and, as MG Siegler said, it's basically Professor X's brain scan room. Updated.

Apple Just Bought Their Own Google Earth
Apple's gone out an bought itself another mapping company. This time it's Canadian firm Poly9, which makes interactive 3D software designed for use in a browser. It could be an important step towards Apple making their very own Google Earth.

Does Steve Jobs Just Not Get Game Development?
Steve Jobs thinks games made with middleware aren't so good. Unity CEO David Helgason, whose SDK is used in the creation of plenty of games used in the App Store, disagrees. And he was quite vocal about it yesterday.

Next Apple TV to offer 99 cent streaming episode rentals?
We've already had some indication that the next Apple TV might boast a low, low $99 price tag, and it looks like Apple might be working to make TV shows cheaper as well. According NewTeeVee, Apple is now trying to convince networks to let it offer rentals of episodes of TV shows for 99 cents.

Apple Acknowledges Faulty Time Capsules—Travels Back to 2008 to Make Repairs
Apple issued a support statement over the weekend regarding its Time Capsule data backup solution—some of them have been breaking well before they should. But it's OK, models from between Feb and June 2008 can be replaced, free.

Expecting Perfection from Apple Design
Aluminosilicate glass. CNC-machined steel. A4. IPS panels. Unibody. Retina display. It sounds like jargon plucked from a stuffy science journal. But it's straight out of Apple marketing.
The iPhone 4 is a zenith for materials discourse in Apple's online marketing: Parts and process. How something is made, the actual process of putting it together, and what it's made of. They're justifiably proud of their baby.
The introduction video for the unibody MacBook Pro was an exegesis on the production of a notebook. According to Apple's implication, other companies' notebooks are made out of multiple parts, so they're weak. The MacBook Pro is made out of a single piece ofaluminium, Jon Ive informs us. It's CNC-machined. It goes through 9 milling operations. The video even shows us how it's done. A factory worker leisurely examines a unibody frame.

Citrix enlists iPhone 4 in its quest for 'Nirvana phone' portable desktop client (video)
Critix has been touting its "Nirvana phone" concept -- a handheld device that can be paired with a monitor / keyboard for remote desktop use -- for quite some time now. Back in February, the minimum hardware specs were nothing to challenging, and as it turns out, Apple's iPhone 4 pretty much exceeds 'em by a long shot. And it has VGA out capabilities and Bluetooth keyboard support. So, you can imagine where this is going.
